Was hopeful but if you need it to scrub up any spills, it just doesn’t. It’s pretty good overall for light mopping but you’ll have to drag out the regular mop for any heavier jobs.
We bought this on a whim -figured I’d take a chance for $30. we have the tesvor vacuum (nicknamed Tessie the Teslabot because… why not?) I hate cleaning the floors almost as much as my wife does, that’s why we got the stupid robot in the first place… so why not add a mop to the fun?I wasn’t too hopeful after reading about smearing and the like. We have cheap travertine tiles that seem to convert every bit of dampness into a dirty smudge. We ran the vacuum first – it uses about 40% of the charge before returning to the charge station. I let it recharge for about an hour, just in case.I filled the mop tank with some no rinse floor cleaner, diluted it to the “dirty floor” level of solution, picked up the rugs, blocked the doors and let ‘er rip. What a pleasant surprise! It recognized the tank and announced “mopping mode” – it then proceeded to do the up and back dance we all know so well thru the house (probably ran it on about 800 sq ft of floors). Then it did the edge clean twice around. It has a little dust bin next to the water tank, and the sweepers still scooped up some dust bunnies while in mopping mode.Wifey was very happy with the results (especially since she didn’t even have to mess with filling the tank!) The mop pad was nice and dirty, the floor was nice and clean. It did a good job of spreading the solution completely behind the robot as it moved around, not streaky at all.I’m sure if I just ran the mop tank with out running the vacuum mode first I would get some smearing of dirt, but that seemed like an obvious first step…I give it the lazy man’s seal of approval!
It works fine, but I won’t be using it on wood floors anymore. The container holds and dispenses liquid at a reasonable rate, attached and was recognized as mopping mode by my vacuum. The pad does a decent job of wiping away dust, but not for any dried on spots. The vacuum suction still functions in mop mode, so the little debris collection section is good.But. Even though the mop part is behind the wheels as it moves forward, it of course overlaps it’s path and therefore the wheels get wet. Then the wheels leave marks on the floor that don’t evaporate away. You see all the turns and random paths the vacuum took. Then, after switching to dry vacuum mode the next cleaning day, the wheels make an awful squeak sound all along the floors. It’s very annoying. So… I could recommend for tile or linoleum floors where the marks won’t be as noticeable or important as keeping the floor mopped. And you have to clean and dry the wheels and remove the tank so it doesn’t get gross, immediately after. At that point, after also rolling up all the throw rugs and wiping up dried-on milk droplets in the kitchen, I might as well have mopped the floor myself.
Mop is great and needs to be set to the normal or high setting but is great for hardwood and ceramic tile flooring. We use the normal vacuum twice a day everyday and mop twice on Sunday and the floors look great we add about 30 to 40% vinegar and the rest with warm water.
Need a very very flat floor
